Air India is to operate the first commercial flight with the Boeing 787
on September 19. The flight will be between Delhi-Chennai and
Delhi-Bangalore.
Chairman and Managing Director Rohit Nandan said that the airline will
operate the aircraft to half-a-dozen cities in the country and fly it on
international routes during winter.
Earlier in the day, Minister for Civil Aviation Ajit Singh along with
former Civil Aviation ministers Shahnawaz Hussain and Rajiv Pratap Rudy
cut the ribbon to induct the first Boeing 787 into Air India fleet.
